MXGP of Switzerland 2025 is imminent

Frauenfeld welcomes the motocross world elite on the split Easter weekend with the Action Days on April 19 and 21

The big Swiss motocross festival, the MXGP of Switzerland in Frauenfeld-Gachnang, is just around the corner on this year's Easter weekend. The organization is well prepared, the track is ready and the teams and riders are on site. Accordingly, the anticipation reached its peak this Friday. The action starts tomorrow, Saturday, April 19, from 8:20 a.m. (the Saturday schedule has been changed) and will continue after a one-day break on the main day, Monday, April 21.

Before the engines roar on the legendary Schollenholz race track in Frauenfeld-Gachnang tomorrow for this year's MXGP of Switzerland, President and CEO Willy Läderach hosted a pre-event press conference on Friday afternoon. He reiterated: "We are organizing another MXGP of Switzerland this weekend. Last year, the financial result did not meet our expectations due to the unfavorable weather. Now we are hoping for a bit more luck this year and more spectators again."

On the subject of special features and permits, Willy Läderach added: "We know that we don't have the best track on the world championship calendar and that it is suboptimal that the paddock and track are spatially separated here and that connecting routes have to be created through the public space. But it is the only way to have an MXGP in Switzerland at all. The responsible authorities visited us today, inspected everything and had nothing to complain about. We would therefore like to take this opportunity to thank the relevant authorities and our more than 460 helpers from the entire organization team. Also a big thank you to the FIM and Infront Moto Racing as well as our sponsors and partners."

Local hero Jeremy Seewer and the world championship leader in the top MXGP class, which has the same name as the world championship series, Tim Gajser from Slovenia, were two really high-caliber riders at the pre-event press conference. This prompted the Ducati rider from Bülach to say, among other things: "I think I rode here for the first time when I was twelve and I think it's really cool to have a home Grand Prix at all. As Willy said, we have special conditions here, but it is what it is and it is certainly endearing."

The organizers hope for many spectators

Tim Gajser: "I had a great result here last year. It's a short track in a small space, but on the other hand it's a fun track. We are looking ahead. Last year, the track was very tough on Saturday. After the rain during the night, the track on Sunday was technically very demanding with deep grooves. These were conditions that I love and that's how the 1-1 result and the Grand Prix victory came about. I'm curious to see what awaits us this time?"

Before things get serious on Saturday and Monday, the machines had to undergo technical scrutineering

Phon measurement is also mandatory

Well, you can definitely expect racing action at its best again this time and from early to late. The program starts on Saturday at 8:20 am with the first practice sessions for all classes.

In addition to the two world championship classes MXGP and MX2, the European championship classes EMX250 and EMX125 will be on the grid. The latter will hold their first of two races on Saturday afternoon, followed by the two qualifying races for the starting positions on Sunday in MX2 and MXGP from 16:35.

On Easter Monday, the action starts at 9:45 a.m., with the World Championship classes holding their two races relevant to the GP classification in regular rotation from 1:15 p.m. onwards.
