All the ingredients are together for the Motocross World Championship round on August 24 and 25 in Frauenfeld
The 16th round of the 2024 Motocross World Championship season took place last weekend in Arnhem, Netherlands. The action continues next weekend (August 24 and 25) with the MXGP of Switzerland in Frauenfeld. Time to rest is therefore rare and there is simply no time to recover. It's a good thing that everything went smoothly again, so that all the top riders will roll up to the starting gate at the Swiss World Championship round.
In the top MXGP class, we are currently witnessing a three-way battle between multiple world champions Tim Gajser, Jorge Prado and Jeffrey Herlings for the 2024 crown. Slovenian Honda rider Tim Gajser, who leads the championship standings with 801 points, currently has the best cards.
Just nine points behind him (792 in total) is the Spaniard Jorge Prado from the Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing team.
Jeffrey Herlings is currently third, 26 points behind Jorge Prado and 35 points behind Tim Gajser. Jorge Prado's indirect Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team-mate comes to Frauenfeld buoyed by his 107th career Grand Prix victory, which the Dutchman secured in front of his home crowd in Arnhem.

The hopes of the Swiss fans rest first and foremost on Jeremy Seewer, who is currently fifth in the World Championship, and Valentin Guillod, who is ninth overall.
While Kevin Brumann has taken part in twelve of the 16 races so far this season and is 26th in the world championship, Arnaud Tonus, Loris Freidig, Robin Scheiben, Nicolas Bender, Bryan Boulard and Alessandro Contessi are enjoying their home Grand Prix as wild card riders.
In the MX2 World Championship, the two riders from Team Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing, Dutch rider Kay de Wolf and Belgian Lucas Coenen, are likely to decide the title race between them, with Kay de Wolf's 777 points giving him a 44-point lead over Lucas Coenen. That may look reassuring at first glance, but it's not much in motocross.
The Swiss will probably not be competing in the small World Championship class this year.

The situation is different in the two support classes EMX250 and EMX125. In the EMX250, Nico Greutmann, who is currently sixth in the European Championship, is joined by fellow Swiss riders Luca Diserens, Arthur Steffen and Remo Schudel.
Ryan Oppliger, Noe Zumstein, Noryn Pulsini, Santiago Espada, Tristan Blanc and Dany Henzer will also compete in the EMX125 under the Swiss cross.
